  • 1 packet (7g) instant yeast
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup whole milk (warmed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • For Pastry Cream: 2 cups whole milk, 4 large egg yolks, ¼ cup cornstarch, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, half of the sugar, yeast, and salt. In another bowl, whisk warmed milk, eggs, and melted butter.
  2. Combine both mixtures until a soft dough forms. Knead until elastic.
  3. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about an hour).
